A race to empty your stack, one number at a time
The Numbers Game is a fast, thinky card game where you race the computer to empty your Player Stack by playing numbered cards onto shared InPlay stacks in sequence. Every card you play is one your opponent can build on next, so pick your moment carefully.
Choose your variant, pick a difficulty, and outmaneuver a computer opponent with a personality of its own — or hand the device to a friend for two-player play.
How do I play a card?
Tap a card in your hand to select it, then tap an InPlay stack to play it. The card must follow the sequence and direction rules for the current variant. If no legal play exists, draw a card from your Player Stack.
What is the goal?
Be the first to empty your Player Stack. Whoever runs out of cards first wins.
What are the InPlay stacks?
The stacks in the middle of the board. Both players play onto them in sequence, so what you play now shapes what your opponent can do next turn.
What's the difference between Classic and Up/Down?
In Classic, InPlay stacks always count up. In Up/Down, stacks can go either direction — more flexibility, more traps. Wild cards in Up/Down prompt you to pick a direction before they lock in.
What is Wild Thing mode?
Wild Thing adds risk and reward: you play before you draw, and wild cards can capture your opponent's plays. Available in the paid version.
What is the CheatDeck?
An optional deck of one-off cards — Steal, Add, Swap, and Caught Stealing — that shake up Classic play. Drawing a cheat card also drops a penalty card into your stack, so it's a genuine risk. Available in the paid version.
How do the difficulty levels work?
Weak, Average, and Strong each use genuinely different AI behavior — not just faster or slower play. Start on Average and adjust from there.
Why is the computer talking to me?
The computer opponent has a personality — Friendly, Competitive, Sarcastic, or Silent — with spoken reactions to key moments. You can change the personality, or turn off the Sound Effects and Spoken Narration toggles in Settings.
Can I play with a friend?
Yes. Two-Player mode passes the device between you on the same iPhone. There is no online multiplayer.
What's the difference between the free and paid versions?
The free app includes Classic, Up/Down, and Two-Player. The paid app unlocks Classic + CheatDeck and Wild Thing, and removes upsell prompts.
What iOS version do I need?
The app requires iOS 17 or later.

The Numbers Game does not collect, store, or share any personal data. The app runs entirely on your device with no network access, no analytics, no advertising, and no third-party services. No information is transmitted from your device.
